Hello by Berlinwood - An Oliver Blankenburg Welcome Video
It was so much fun to film and edit this video. Thanks to everyone! :)
While checking old cd’s and dvd’s i found my very first fingerboarding video from 2003. After several very short clips I tried do edit a longer video to one of my favorite songs back then (Stereophonics - A thousand trees). I already wrote about that clip in an earlier post.
Nowadays no one will have a look about such a video. Bad quality, three fingers, strange tricks, no style. Back then I was proud like hell. Time changed so much. Have a look, this was fingerboarding for me and a lot of others in 2003.
By the way. One month later in 2003 I got my first wooden fingerboad from the new company Berlinwood… :D
I want this back!
Found this today and want to go skateboarding now. Let me see what will happen this year, looking forward to nice times at BRR-City…
We never really grow up, we only learn how to act in public.
I think I already mentioned somewhere that one of my greatest adventures was an US-Fingerboard-Tour with Blackriver Ramps in 2009. Till last week I thought there was no footage left, but when Thomas and I asked for special stuff for the Fingerboarder Magazine Website we got this really cool clip. Great to see all these moments again!
Have fun and visit the website of the Fingerboarder Magazine! Or just buy this piece of fingerboard history at the Blackriver Webshop! :)
The awkward moment when you realise that the only thing you have in common with your good old friends is the past.
The day after Magazine #002 Release Party. Pictures taken with my latest digital camera fuji finepix x100. More about this camera will follow in the next weeks. :)
That’s the question.
Last week i had the possibility to show my skills in one of the new product videos of Blackriver Ramps. Harry Schön, one of the worlds busiest filmers and editors of fingerboard videos, asks me the evening before when I had a good fingerboard session at the Blackriver Store Berlin with Gene Senges and others. When I heard about the Funbox Kink Rail I didn´t have to think twice. I owned both of the old Funboxes (Rail and Box) and I used to ride them a lot. Furthermore I’m not a big fan of all the new wallride curbs, so getting the Funbox Kink Rail was like winning the lottery. ;)
So this evening I thought about the possibilities and even wrote a little list of tricks I could do. The next day I met Harry at the store and the whole filming session took only around one or two hours with breaks eating pizza and helping customers at the store. Altogether it was a great experience and I’m glad to represent and support Blackriver with this video. I hope you like it.
Thanks to Harry for his patience filming and his great engagement in fingerboarding.
Hello World… again!
I started fingerboarding in the age of 14 and entered the online fingerboard scene four years later in 2002. Now about ten years later after great adventures visiting several countries because of fingerboarding but being almost out of the fingerboard business from time to time I got the chance to work for Blackriver Ramps.
For me doing this step breaking up with my current work and going to Blackriver is a new stage of life. I feel happy about the possibilities which are given to me and look forward to a hopefully long work together establishing and supporting the fingerboard scene.
Finally i feel like 200% fingerboarding again. I´ll try to keep this blog up to date with all the news, videos and photos of my life as fingerboarder. :)
soundtrack of my life #2
I listened to that song a lot in 2003 and 2004. I just finished school and was working in a kindergarten for deaf children (Voluntary Year of Social Service). At lunchbreak i was sitting in my small room, fingerboarding and listening to Evan Dando.
This year was a very special one. I learned a lot about everything around me and i´m glad i took the chance to do this. And all the time i want to remember the kids and the beautiful times i will listen to exactly this song. :)
